Donor Charter

As a registered charity that seeks funds from the public, Michael’s Fan Club subscribes to the principles set out in the Charity Regulator’s Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public.

Respect

  • We are grateful to all our donors and respect them all equally.
  • We respect the rights and dignity of donors, beneficiaries and the public in our fundraising activities. In particular, we will not be unreasonably persistent, intrusive or place undue pressure on people to donate.
  • Beneficiaries will not be presented in a disrespectful way in our promotional activities. Where appropriate, we invite their input into such activities.

Honesty and Integrity

  • We are honest and truthful in how we represent Michael’s Fan Club and in how funds are used.
  • We make information about our charitable purpose and activities freely available.
  • We use the donations and gifts we receive solely for the purposes for which they were donated.
  • We answer questions about our fundraising activities and costs honestly and without delay.

Transparency and Accountability

  • Our trustees and management take responsibility for their actions and can explain, clarify and justify those actions.
  • We clearly identify to donors and the public the cause for which our fundraising is occurring and how donations are used.
  • We make it easy for those interested to contact us and we have a procedure in place to address complaints they may have.
  • We make it easy for donors’ names to be deleted on request from our mailing lists.
  • We provide easy access to our most recent financial statements.
