100 kms in 2 days: buen camino!

Could you walk 100 kms in 2 days? This was the challenge set to a hardy group of walkers in September as they took on the famous Camino de Santiago in aid of Michael’s Fan Club. Starting from the historic town of Lugo, the band of 17 walked 47 kms on day one, then overnighted in Melide, before setting out in the darkness at 7 am next morning on the 53 kms to Santiago de Compostela. The final group reached the famous Cathedral of the city at 10.15 pm. It was an heroic effort in honour of young Michael Horgan.

The unforgettable trip, which coincided with Michael’s 10th birthday, comprised a total of 48 walkers, who raised endless laughs and over €60,000 for our charity. Buen camino!
